Author’s POV:
The Monday rush was unmistakable at Pet Harmony Hospital. A team of doctors was handling an emergency case. In the midst of the chaos, the senior head surgeon, Dr. Dixit, exited the operating theatre. He commanded the new intern to bring the patient’s file quickly. The intern, obeying his words, rushed to get the file and all the reports.
By the way, he is not an ordinary intern. He is Dr. Siddharth Singh Rathore — as talented as he is handsome. He joined Pet Harmony just a week ago.
A cheerful yet quiet kind of person. Very dedicated to his passion and dreams.
Fortunately, everything is perfect in his life, both personally and professionally.
So, as he was bringing the file, a person — or to be specific, a woman in a black kurta set — collided with him, causing all the pages in the file to scatter.
He waited for her to apologise and help him fix the mess, but to his surprise, she said, “It’s okay,” implying that he was the one at fault.
Before he could respond to her remark, she hurriedly walked away, leaving Siddharth behind with the disorganised documents.
After fixing the reports, he headed towards the operating theatre where Dr. Dixit was waiting for him.
“Were you going to take the whole day to bring a file?” Dr. Dixit said mockingly.
“My apologies, sir,” Siddharth said, lowering his head shamefully.
“Okay, now be quick,” Dr. Dixit said, re-entering the operating theatre.

Siddharth’s POV:
Mondays are so unfavourable. I had to hear Dr. Dixit’s tantrums because of that self-obsessed woman.
It wasn’t my fault. She was in a hurry and instead of apologising, she walked away blaming me.
She should get glasses so she can see a tall and handsome person.
I mean, who could not notice someone like me?
Anyway, I don’t want to spoil my mood because of someone barely noticeable.
Shaking off the thought of the morning incident, I went to my cabin to check on the patients.
At 7 o’clock, I grabbed my belongings and left for home.
After ringing the bell, Suyash Kaka opened the door.
The first being I needed to see right now was my Bella. I went into my room to look for her.
By the way, Bella is my Turkish Angora cat with white fur. We made her a family member four years ago.

She was playing with a wool ball and had now gotten herself trapped in its net.
I chuckled at her playfulness and went to help her.
By 8 o’clock, Suyash Kaka had prepared my dinner since mom and dad had gone to a party.
After dinner, I went to my room to prepare for the next day at the hospital.
While working, my eyes drifted towards a photo frame. It was from my college group trip to the Maldives.
It’s true that I like my own company more than anyone else’s, but the safe space created between us was comforting for me. I can say that I miss them, but I’m happy they are settled in their lives too.
As I finished my work, mom and dad came home.
I opened the door for them.
“Why are you still awake? Go and sleep. You have your shift tomorrow,” dad said with concern.
“Haa beta, ab to so jaa, 1 baj chuke hain,” my mom supported him.
[Yes, my child, it’s already 1 AM.]
“Main jaa hi raha tha. Good night,” I told them while heading up the stairs.
[I was just going. Good night.]
Grabbing the current read from my shelf, I turned off all the lights except for the side lamp.
After reading three chapters, I decided to sleep. I wanted to read one more, but then my body wouldn’t be able to handle work tomorrow.

Noor’s POV:
I opened my eyes as my alarm clock screamed in my ears. It’s 6 o’clock now. I woke up early today — I can’t repeat yesterday’s rush.
I was heading to the washroom to freshen up, but then my phone buzzed with a call from my BFF. It’s a good thing that my day is starting with her voice.
“Hey, sorry for yesterday, yaar. I was sleeping and my phone was on silent. By the way, how was your first day at work? I called you at 6:30 but you weren’t picking up.” She was blabbering non-stop.
“Aree shaant, koi baat nahi. Rahi baat kal ki, to din acha tha. Main bohot saare pets se mili thi. Bas ek ladke se takkar ho gayi thi. Andha tha shayad,” I told her about that encounter.
[Okay, calm down. No worries. As for yesterday, it was good. I met a lot of pets there. Just collided with some jerk who was probably blind.]
“Was he handsome?” she asked teasingly.
“I don’t know, I was in such a hurry I didn’t even notice. And please don’t talk about men with me.”
“Are you still bothered by what happened? I know it’s not easy for you, but please stop thinking about him. I’m sure he’s chilling in life while you’re stuck in the past,” she said.
“Dekh, mujhe hospital jaana hai to please tu mera mood mat kharab kar,” I said, sounding annoyed — of course I was with her statement.
[Look, I have to go to the hospital, so please don’t ruin my mood.]
“Yeah, but please stop torturing yourself and think about you. Okay?” she ordered.
“Okay, I’ll try my best. Now bye, I have to go.”
“Yeah, bye,” she said, and I hung up.
Only Yukti knows about it. Or I can say she witnessed it with me.
The only person with whom I can share my vulnerability.
Friends are that safe place where judgements are not allowed.
Shaking off the thought, I got ready for the day.
I chose a black Kurti with white palazzo pants, styled with a white Dupatta. Pairing it with small silver Jhumkas and an oxidised silver ring, I completed the look.

Grabbing my bag and coat, I went downstairs for breakfast.
Maggie and Oreo were also having their breakfast and I took a seat next to my dad at the dining table.
“Ready to go early today!” Dad asked, impressed by my punctuality.
“Yes, Dad!” I said, matching his energy.
After having dinner, I wore my coat over the kurti.
“Okay babies, bye! See you in the evening,” I waved at my two shining stars.

They barked at me in response.
Smiling to their response, I headed towards hospital.
